I am a beginner to wigs, should I get a frontal wig or closure wig?"

We advise that you start off with a closure wig as it is less work and little to zero maintenance. Then you can work your way up to a frontal wig.

What is the difference between a frontal and a closure?

A frontal is created in such a way that it goes from ear to ear meaning you can literally make a parting anywhere, even a deep side part. Also, if you'd like to pull your hair back and try various styles, a frontal would be perfect. Frontals mostly come in 2 common sizes; 13x4 and 13x6. We use 13x4 frontals for our frontal wigs. 
 
On the other hand, a closure is created in such a way to mimick a hairline parting or scalp. They are much smaller in size and do not go ear to ear meaning you do not have the versatility to part anywhere like a frontal. You are mostly limited to either a middle parting or side parting. Closures come in sizes: 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 and even 7x7. We use 5x5 closures for our closure wigs. We believe this is the perfect size for a closure wig as the closure has enough space to allow for a side or middle parting but small enough for little to zero maintenance. If this is your first time wearing a wig, we recommend that you get a closure wig.

What makes the MKRoots wigs beginner friendly?

We do all the hard work for you. A lot of time is taken into customizing each wig to perfection by initially bleaching and toning the knots; this creates a scalp like illusion when the wig is worn. We further go ahead to pluck the hairline to mimick one that is completely natural looking. All wigs will arrive with the frontal effect which looks very natural when the wig is worn. If you do not want the frontal effect, please leave a note for us at checkout. 
 
We also add a wig comb, adjustable straps and an elastic band to the wig which ensures security when worn. All you have to do is cut off the lace in a zigzag motion when you receive your wig. You can also leave a note for us to cut the lace for you if you'd like. We are here to ensure you have a wonderful wig-wearing experience and make it as easy and beginner friendly as possible.

How long before my wig is completed?

Please allow 3 weeks from when your order is placed to when its completed. Please note that Saturday, Sundays and Public holidays are not considered working days. In addition to that, unforseen circumstances such as illness, weather conditions, emergencies, sales etc may lead to a slight delay. However, the client will be notified well in advance of any such delay. Wig processing time does not include shipping time frame.

How long is shipping for wigs?

Accepted Answer

Once your order has been placed, there is a mandatory 24 hour payment processing time. Once your payment has cleared, your business days begin. Once your order has been shipped, you will immediately receive a tracking number to the email you provided us with. For wigs, you can expect to wait 10 business days before shipping. Shipping can thereafter take an additional 3-10 days depending on your location. Express shipping is only 2-3 days in Canada, so if you're unsure about timing or you are in a rush, please be sure to choose express shipping.
 
Business days do not include weekends or public holidays. If there are delays from our manufacturer, we shall be sure to notify you via email. 
 
Why is the processing time long? All our wigs are custom made and MTO - meaning we make them when we receive your order and due to the precision of detail we take with our lace, we do need some extra time especially for HD lace. We also specially make our wigs based on the customer's specifications i.e head size.

All our wigs are also customised in house by our CEO. Customization includes bleaching the knots and hand plucking the hairline to make it look as natural as possible.

Is the MKRoots Lace Glue Waterproof?

Yes, it is. If applied correctly, the hold of the MKRoots Lace Glue is 2-6 weeks. Allow 24-48 hours to set before getting it wet.

Yes, it is especially if you need to take off your wigs safely with zero harm to your edges. Do not pull off your wig as this could damage your hairline. The MKRoots Adhesive Remover is an essential as it goes hand in hand with the MKRoots Lace Glue.
